Florida has a new law that just went into effect called the “HALO” law, “Honoring and Listening to Our Officers.” The law creates a 25-foot buffer zone around first responders. If a first responder asks you to back off during the course of their duties and you fail to do so, you could face a second-degree misdemeanor charge punishable by up to 60 days in jail or a $500 fine. Are you in favor or opposed to this law? Do you think a similar law should be enacted in Massachusetts?
