Vrabel and The Patriots. The big sports story this past week was the New England Patriots hiring former NFL linebacker and three-time Super Bowl champion, Mike Vrabel as the Pats new head coach. Albert Breer, sportswriter for Sports Illustrated joins Gary to discuss the future of the Patriots.
The Future of Teaching. Are the pipelines drying up in the teaching profession? A recent report from the Economic Policy Institute and the Center for Economic and Policy Research found that the pay penalty for teachers, the regression-adjusted gap between the weekly wages of teachers and college graduates working in other professions, grew to a record 26.6% in 2023. Kara Miller, Boston Globe correspondent joins Gary to discuss the future of teaching.
Remembering “Mr. Baseball.” Former pro baseball catcher and longtime Milwaukee Brewers broadcaster Bob Uecker has died at the age of 90. Uecker had a 70-year career in baseball, making his MLB debut in 1962 and later after his retirement as a player, became a sportscaster for the Milwaukee Brewers starting in 1971 till just prior to his death. Boston Globe sports columnist Dan Shaughnessy joins Gary to discuss the life and career of Bob Uecker.
