President Trump signed an executive order to declassify files on the assassinations of former President John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, and Martin Luther King Jr. During Trump’s first administration he promised to release the classified files but at the time, Trump said the potential harm to national security among other things outweighed public interest. Now, Trump determined, “the release of all records in the Federal Government’s possession pertaining to each of those assassinations is in the public interest."
