The Federal Investigation into Sanctuary Cities. The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform has opened an investigation into what they call sanctuary cities or jurisdictions. The Committee sent letters to the mayors of four major U.S. cities, including Boston’s Mayor Michelle Wu, calling on the leaders to testify at a Congressional hearing next month as part of the federal investigation into the status of sanctuary cities. The Wu Administration has not officially responded to the request, telling media outlets today, “We’ll respond in due time.” Tonight, we discuss.
Declassifying the Files… President Trump signed an executive order to declassify files on the assassinations of former President John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, and Martin Luther King Jr. During Trump’s first administration he promised to release the classified files but at the time, Trump said the potential harm to national security among other things outweighed public interest. Now, Trump determined, “the release of all records in the Federal Government’s possession pertaining to each of those assassinations is in the public interest."
