The Future of Social Security. The Trump Administration’s plan to slash roughly 12% of the Social Security Administration staff raise concerns about how the cuts could hurt customer service and access to benefits. Boston attorney Jim Roosevelt, grandson of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt (who signed the Social Security Act into law) and former associate commissioner of the Social Security Admin. during the Clinton Administration, believes the Trump Admin. is “trying to hollow out Social Security” and “undermine confidence in the system” by weakening the agency that manages the program. Is ICE Going Too Far? There have been more cases emerging of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arresting and detaining students and working professionals who have had their Visas revoked over engagement in activities that are “counter to our national interest or our foreign policy” or in some cases with no explanation given at all.
