Physician shortages in the U.S. are affecting health systems and organizations nationwide and are predicted to have long-lasting effects on public health. According to the Association of American Medical Colleges, the U.S. is facing a shortage of up to 124,000 physicians by 2034, including 48,000 primary care physicians.
