How many people know the story of Henry Knox? Knox was an American military officer, also considered a war hero and a Founding Father of the United States. Knox was a senior general of the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War, serving as chief of artillery in all of George Washington's campaigns and was the nation’s first Secretary of War. You guessed correctly, if you guessed that he is the individual for whom Fort Knox is named after.
