NightSide News Update. We kick off the program with four news stories and different guests on the stories we think you need to know about! For one of our segments this evening Boston Globe reporter Emily Sweeney will talk to us about the murder investigation of an MIT professor in Brookline.

December ’41. December ’41 is a historical thriller that takes place in the first weeks of the Second World War and takes the reader on a journey across the U.S. on a manhunt for a German agent who’s planning to kill FDR on the night he lights the National Christmas Tree. Boston based author William Martin will join Dan this evening to discuss his riveting new novel!

The Use of Cameras in Public Spaces. As a result of the Brown University shooting, it appears the need for quality security cameras has never been greater. Public cameras are vital tools for law enforcement, especially in tackling crime. Police in Providence are still looking for the public's help in identifying the shooting suspect and relying on some security footage to identify the suspect. When it comes to public surveillance though, everyone has a different opinion on the matter and some, such as residents and city officials in Cambridge, are against traffic cameras citing privacy concerns. Where do you come down on the matter of public surveillance and security cameras? Are you for or against them? Do you find them a vital public safety tool in some cases?
