BOSTON (WBZNewsRadio) - It feels like summer is upon us and there is more heat heading our way.

Record high temperatures are possible across New England this weekend, as temperatures soar into the 80s.

WBZ's Shari Small was in Revere asking people what's on tap for the weekend. The number one answer; yard work.

On Friday, there is a divide between sun and clouds for the northern part of the state and the Cape and Islands. Boston will get some sun, hitting the 70s, but on the Cape and Islands, temps will remain in the 60s with clouds lingering most of the day. Thanks to very humid air moving through, Friday night will see low clouds, fog and drizzle near the coast.

This weekend will bring highs in the 70s and 80s for much the region. Also rising this weekend is the humidity level, with dew points in the 60s for both Saturday and Sunday. The South Coast, Cape and Islands will again be slightly cooler and could see showers passing through from time to time. Saturday night will bring some warm showers across the state.

Sunday we could see some pop-up thunderstorms. Monday will lead with a cold front, bringing widespread rain and storms leaving the rest of the week cooler with temperatures in the 60s and 70s.
