BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Greater Boston and the rest of Massachusetts are looking at a mess of snow and rain to end off the week. The National Weather Service has issued several advisories ahead of a storm that will pull in on Thursday evening and last through Friday.

In the Boston area, the storm will start as mostly rain on Thursday evening before turning to a wintry mix overnight to all snow later on Friday. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from the Berkshires to the North Shore, and a Coastal Flood Warning will kick in from Boston to the Cape Cod Canal.

Most of the snow is expected well north and west of the city, with parts of the Merrimack Valley on track to get four to six inches. The northern Berkshires could see more than six. Boston Metro and the near suburbs are expected to pick up one to three inches by the end of the storm.
