Storm Changeover To All Snow Just About Complete

LAKEVILLE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Most of the coastal areas that started the winter storm with rain have changed over to snow as Tuesday's nor'easter progressed.

Forecasters say due to a shift south in the storm's direction, the amount of snow in the Boston area has been reduced from a foot to just a few inches.

But according to forecasters, the storm's hot spot continues to be the southeast part of the state, with nine or more inches of snow possible by the time it is over tonight.

Yesterday, Governor Maura Healey encouraged people to stay off the roads Tuesday if possible.

With a mix of rain and snow, and with temperatures falling and the risk of flash freezing in some areas, driving conditions remain potentially dangerous and will get worse as the day goes on.

WBZ's Chaiel Schaffel (@CSchaffelWBZ) reports.
