BROCKTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Brockton man is carrying out his father's legacy one mango at a time.
With the help of his three brothers, Kervin Edouard, has taken over his father's mango shipping business, Mango Man Swerv, sending fresh fruit to people across the country.
"We ship all over the United States so we have people in Florida, in New Jersey, in New York, Connecticut," he said. "So people will reach out to us and we'll put out the order and just ship the container to them."
Edouard ships containers of mangos from his family-owned farm in Haiti to Brockton, where he stores and ships them to hundreds of markets and wholesalers.
Germain Paul, Edouard's dad, started the business decades ago, sending fresh fruit from Haiti to customers in the United States. Edouard took over the business with his brothers after their father passed away in September.

Before taking over the family business, Edouard worked a corporate job. He enjoys being his own boss at Mango Man Swerv despite the long hours and early wake-up calls.
"I get up at 3 in the morning, I'm up, I'm excited," he said. "I turn my music on, start my truck, hit the road, pick up mangos, and see my clients and how happy they are when they receive the mango. It keeps me going."
Edouard said with mango season being six months, it gives him an opportunity to travel and explore the world the rest of the year.
