FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Football season is just around the corner and some Foxborough residents have found their own ways around spending Sundays in bumper-to-bumper traffic.

Those who live in the area know that when the Patriots are playing at Gillette Stadium, they should avoid Route 1 at all costs. WBZ's Matt Shearer went to see if any Foxborough residents were willing to share their secret alternative routes on the road.

"We have ways around it, it's not an issue," Amy from Norfolk told Shearer. When he asked her to reveal her traffic secrets she declined with a laugh.

Another local exposed they also had alternative ways to get around, saying they use "backroads," but wouldn't say which, "Why would I want that on the radio? And then other people would tell," Jason from Foxborough said.

While Jason kept his lips sealed, he did expose one secret way around the road... move there.

"Door to door [in] five minutes," he told Shearer about his walk from his house to Gillette Stadium. He is a Patriots season ticket holder and chose his house based off of the location.
