Oak Bluffs Police Find Truck Suspended In Air On Utility Pole Wires

OAK BLUFFS, Mass. (WBZ News Radio) — Oak Bluffs Police found a truck up a telephone pole early Sunday morning with no driver in sight.

Just before 2 a.m., officers got reports of a truck stuck on a telephone pole with just one tire remaining on the ground. When police arrived at the scene they discovered someone had driven a Dodge pick-up truck up a utility pole support wire causing it to be suspended in the air. Officers said the truck was unoccupied.

A witness allegedly told police that they saw a man walking from the scene of the accident shortly after the crash. Police later found the man at his Oak Bluffs residence and said he was not injured.

The man is being charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident, negligent operation, marked lanes violation, and speeding.

He is set to be arraigned in Edgartown District Court.
