BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Paradegoers braved the unseasonable cold weather on Sunday to celebrate Boston's largest and most diverse neighborhood.
Marching bands, dancers, residents, and several local lawmakers showed up for The Dorchester Day Parade, also known as Dot Day Parade, to celebrate Dorchester at one of Boston's largest parades.
Dorchester residents didn't seem to mind the weather as they came together to appreciate their neighborhood.
"I've been here plenty of times and I just love how we all come together," one woman told WBZ's Tim Dunn.

The parade kicked off near the Milton town line at Lower Mills and stretched over three miles of the Savin Hill with Major Wu leading the pack.
"I just want to see who comes this year, if it's the same stuff, new stuff," one paradegoer said.
Major Michelle Wu said rain or shine it's great to see so many people out celebrating.
"No matter the weather it's great to see so many kids out and families representing every generation, every culture, every slice of the city is right here in Dorchester," said Mayor Michelle Wu.
