BOSTON (WBZ News Radio) — Patriots offensive tackle Calvin Anderson took a moment to let his nerdy side shine on Thursday.

During a press conference, Anderson casually mentioned that he can solve a Rubik's Cube behind his back. He also exposed that he was the first pro athlete to have a brand ambassadorship with the company.

"My rookie year I actually signed a brand ambassadorship with Rubik's," Anderson said. "It's because I came up with a different way to solve it blindfolded."

Anderson went on to explain that there are several ways people can solve Rubik's cubes without looking and he was able to come up with a new way to do it. He said it doesn't have to do with touch, but more about memorization, probability, and math.

The OT's fastest time to solve a Rubik's Cube while looking is 13 seconds and behind his back, or blindfolded, he can solve it in the 20-second range.

While attending Rice University, Anderson majored in mathematical economic analysis.
