MANSFIELD, Mass. (WBZ News Radio) — Mansfield Police have publicly identified a 23-year-old man fatally shot in a Mansfield home on Saturday.
Just after 11 a.m. on Saturday, the Southeastern Massachusetts Regional Emergency Communications Center got reports of a shooting at 42 West Church Street. When first responders arrived, they found 23-year-old Samuel P. Waters of Mansfield dead, said Bristol County District Attorney's Office.
Officials said Waters was suffering from gunshot wounds.

One person is being detained in connection to Waters' death but has not been formally charged with a crime at this time, according to Bristol County District Attorney's Office.
William O'Brien, 22, of Manchester-By-The-Sea was detained in connection to Waters' death. O'Brien is charged with Carrying an Illegal Firearm and Carrying a Loaded Illegal Firearm. They are set to be arraigned on Monday morning in Attleboro District Court.
An investigation is underway. No other information has been released at this time.
