WBZ's James Rojas went to grab a bite. He tried the plato mexicano which comes with a carne asada taco, a chicken enchilada, and a chorizo quesadilla and washed it all down with some horchata.
"I'm from Los Angeles and so I haven't had like really really good Mexican food in a long time," Rojas said after his feast.
Yelp sent the restaurant a plaque on Monday to commemorate its new ranking.
"Thanks for the people like without all our customers, our great customers, we wouldn't be here... it's just, it's amazing," Jhonathan Timoteo, co-owner of Taqueria El Amigo, said.
One man heard about the taqueria's new ranking and came to try it out for himself.
"It's hard to find authentic, you know, there's too many chains around so I just wanted to drop in and check it out."
Rojas said if you want to try it for yourself he recommends getting there early to get a spot at one of the five tables inside.
