BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- "Good morning, how we doing? Happy training camp."

And, with those words from Bill Belichick, away we go!

The Patriots' head coach met with the media for 14 minutes this morning and was asked all the hits in his first availability since offseason workouts: Malcolm Butler's Super Bowl benching, Julian Edelman's suspension, Rob Gronkowski's contract status, whether Malcolm Mitchell's on the trade block, if he actually texted Jimmy Garoppolo after his Niners wins.

Everything but his relationship with Tom Brady and Robert Kraft.

The message was consistent: Last year's in the past, internal matters are internal, and it's time to look ahead.

"As always, excited for the start of the season," Belichick said. "Excited to get going. We've got a long way to go. We haven't done anything. All of us, starting with me, coaching staff, head coach, everybody, it's a new season for all of us. We all have a lot of work to do. I certainly have a lot of skills that I need to refine and improve and work on, and get them to the level that they need to be at for the football season, but that's what training camp and the preseason games and so forth are for, so we'll work to do those things individually, and collectively as a team and as a staff. We're excited and looking forward to that opportunity."

Pats camp practices start tomorrow. Players had to report today.
