Taunton Restaurant Owner Sees Increase In Business During Pandemic

TAUNTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Restaurants across Massachusetts are struggling to make ends meet during the pandemic but one take-out restaurant owner in Bristol County says he is thriving.

Slyvester English says his business is doing so well he was just able to open a second location.

If you have a hankering for some take-out Barbecue Ribs or Beef Brisket for dinner, English has you covered.

English is now operating 2 small take-out restaurants in Taunton and Easton, called Kinfolks Award Winning BBQ and they're doing a smokin' business during the pandemic.

"It's a very small store front, it was perfect the way I served food geared towards take-out during the pandemic when all the restrictions came," said English.

He adds when all the big restaurants that would generally seat 100 to 200 people had to comply with Massachusetts's Covid guidelines, his business began to pick up. English says business increased 30 to 40 percent during the pandemic.

English is from Florida and picked up more than 200 trophies by entering his food truck in cook-off competitions down South.
