Strong Winds Cause Scaffolding To Collapse in Roxbury Monday Night

ROXBURY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Strong winds late Monday night, toppled scaffolding at a construction site in Roxbury and thankfully, no one was hurt.

Tuesday is going to be a long day for construction workers in Roxbury. The scaffolding on an unfinished apartment building, on St. Alphonsus Street, toppled over and is leaning on the neighboring apartment building.

A walkway that runs between the two structures was completely blocked by debris and lumber that also came crashing down because of the strong winds.

Fortunately, the crash happened overnight and there were no injuries reported and traffic was not affected.

A construction worker said the scaffolding needs to be inspected before anything can be done to disassemble and remove it.

Once the inspection is complete, construction workers do not have an easy task cleaning up the mess Mother Nature left behind.
