BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — For the second time in weeks, Boston school students have been sent to the hospital after consuming edibles. Boston Police said they responded to Henderson Inclusion School in Dorchester at about 12:40 p.m. on Tuesday.
According to a police report obtained by WBZ NewsRadio, the officers were told by the school nurse that three students had eaten cannabis gummies at the school at about noon.
Those students were taken to a local hospital by Boston EMS, the report said. Staff at the school confiscated one bag of Wonka brand gummies and a vape pen. There was no update on their condition as of Wednesday morning.
Boston Public Schools responded to the incident, saying that the district was "deeply concerned" and that it was "encouraging parents, guardians, and caregivers to take an active role by talking to their students to ensure that they are aware of the risks associated with consuming these products."
BPS didn't say how old the students were, but did say they were a part of the "Upper School."
On March 6, several middle school students from the Tobin School in Roxbury were sickened and one was taken to the hospital after eating suspected edibles.
