Third Suspect Involved In Holyoke Shooting Added To MSP Most Wanted List

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WBZNewsRadio) - Massachusetts State Police have now added the third assailant involved in a shooting in Holyoke last week, that killed an unborn child of a woman riding a bus.

The shooting took place October 4th, around 12:40 p.m. when shots rang out in the area of Sargeant and Maple Streets. A pregnant woman riding a passing transit bus was hit by a stray bullet and lost her unborn child.

Police arrested two of the three suspected assailants involved. The third, Kermith D. Alvarez, remains on the run. An arrest warrant charging Alvarez with murder has been authorized.

"Alvarez is actively avoiding law enforcement, the firearm used in this incident has not been recovered, and he should be considered armed and dangerous." State Police said.

He has black hair and brown eyes and stands around 5'6" tall, weighing roughly 230 lbs. Alvarez is also known to use the alias 'Kermith Vargas.'
