WALPOLE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Good Samaritan in a pickup truck stopped an erratic driver who had just committed attempted murder on two police officers.

Officers were alerted of the reckless driver on Common Street around 11 a.m. in a silver Honda sedan.

In a release issued by the Walpole Police Department, the woman was uncooperative and was yelling profanities at the officers.

“Suddenly while the two officers were still in front of her vehicle she just started accelerating and almost killed both of the police officers,” Walpole Police Chief John Carmichael said.

As the woman tried to escape the officers in her vehicle, a Good Samaritan attempted to stop the chase by crashing their pickup truck head-on into her vehicle.

Neither officer, nor the Good Samaritan and woman, were injured.

The woman was taken into custody.
