BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston Police are pushing back on the public narrative in a death and DCF case out of South Boston. Four children were found in an apartment at the 381 Old Colony Avenue public housing development in South Boston on Saturday, after first responders were called there for a report of an unconscious person. The case has been dubbed the "House of Horrors" by some concerned Boston city councilors.

Police said they got to the scene just after 11:00 a.m., and the victim, a transgender woman, was declared dead shortly after. Contrary to earlier reports from the Fire Department, police said the six adults on scene were fully cooperative and all of the four children had parents on scene.

Boston Police specifically debate the state of the apartment when they found it: earlier reports said there were drugs and other questionable items found scattered throughout the apartment. Police said their officers didn't find those items and that the reports "...are not supported by what officers encountered or by the information received on scene."

However, a police report obtained by WBZ NewsRadio does say that the "condition" of the apartment was bad enough for the officers to file a 51A report with the state Department of Children and Families. A 51A report is a form that alleges children have been neglected or abused in some way.

Boston City Councilors Erin Murphy, Ed Flynn and State Sen. Nick Collins are all calling for an investigation. WBZ NewsRadio has reached out for a copy of the 51A report from Boston Police.
