BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) – A new Boston Pride has formed and is looking for a new range of input.
One of the event’s organizers, Ashawn Dabney Small, said the new goal of the group is to make the organization more open and exclusive.
“We are recruiting new committee members to bring in the new Boston Pride.”

After the organization disbanded in July amid allegations of a lack of diversity, Dabney Small said it is important the organization's door is very open to all.
He also mentioned that even people on the committee have not felt accepted when it came to the event.
"There’s a lot of hate and a lot of jealousy, and I think that as a community we need to work on that,” he said. “I think we need to work on just loving on each other because people have died for us.”
Small added that pride should be about love. July is Pride Month.
