Boston Public Schools Closed Friday Because Of Impending Storm

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) – Boston Public Schools (BPS) will be closed Friday because of an impending storm.

BPS making the announcement Thursday because the forecast is expected to bring freezing rain and sleet.

The National Weather Service (NWS) expects Friday travel, especially during the morning, to be extremely slippery. Possible rain is expected to change over to sleet and freezing rain as the storm system travels from north to south across the state and temperatures dip into the single digits.

The NWS is telling people to be aware of roads and walkways becoming icy incredibly fast. The wintry mix could start moving into the Boston area Thursday evening.
