While the smell of sewage in the area may not seem too out of place, some think that it has been stronger than usual.
“I’ve been around this area for a little bit, especially by the museum it’s been really [bad],” said Jayden, a local resident.
“For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been just trying to walk right through it, it’s obvious, you definitely get a nice whiff of it,” Jayden added.

Other residents pointed out that they noticed the foul smell too, saying it has been unbearable lately.
The smelly sewage was first reported in an online Reddit post, with some theorizing that the lack of rain may be to blame since the water isn’t washing out drains as usual.
A spokesperson for the Boston Water and Sewer Commission told WBZ NewsRadio that "in theory, lack of rain could cause some odors from our combined sewers. However, residents should not assume that all odors are related to lack of rainfall."
