CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Cambridge police officer is facing drunk driving charges stemming from an early morning crash on Monday.

Cambridge Police arrested Michael Daniliuk after a crash involving three motorcyclists at the intersection of Broadway and Columbia street at around midnight on Monday. Daniliuk allegedly failed to stop at a red light and crashed into the three bikers who were stopped at the light, according to Cambridge Police.

Daniliuk and two of the motorcyclists were taken to local hospitals after the crash. Cambridge Police said all three had no clear major injuries.

Officers charged Daniliuk, who was off-duty at the time of the crash, with operating under the influence of alcohol and failure to stop at a red light. He has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation, in accordance with Cambridge Police Department policy.
