Carson Beach Hosts Save The Harbor / Save The Bay's Teen Beach Bash

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Carson Beach in South Boston was the site for Save the Harbor / Save the Bay's Teen Beach Bash Friday afternoon.

Hundreds of teens from around Boston attended the event, which featured music, food and ice cream trucks, a photo booth, kayaking, and other activities.

The event comes in the wake of a tumultuous spring at Carson Beach and several regional beaches, which saw multiple fights and dozens of arrests among juveniles.

"We want people to just come out here and have fun," said Maria, a teen who works for Save the Harbor. "It's basically meant to create a safe space for teens at the beach, make it inclusive for everyone, equitable, and accessible."

"You got to give people something to do. Whether you're teens or you're an adult, you got to give people something to do, and we want to invest in these resources," said Save the Harbor Executive Director Chris Mancini.
