Check Your Freezer; Maine Company Issues Frozen Lobster Recall

BUCKSPORT, Maine (WBZ NewsRadio) — Check your freezer, a Maine lobster company has recalled over 5,000 pounds of frozen cooked lobster meat.

The Greenhead Lobster products could be contaminated with Listeria, according to the FDA. This can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, elderly people and others with weakened immune systems.

The effected meat was distributed in Maine and New Hampshire, then sent nationwide through wholesale distributers.

The potential contamination was found after a routine sampling program by the company and no other Greenhead products are being impacted by this recall.

People that purchased the products listed in the recall are urged not to consume the product and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
