BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — When it comes to Dorchester, Boston City Councilor Brian Worrell is a tad biased.
"I’m going to be just frank and honest: Dorchester is the best neighborhood," Worrell told WBZ NewsRadio.
Worrell represents Dorchester on the council and was one of several local leaders attending the annual Dorchester Day Parade Sunday.

The unique holiday around Boston's biggest neighborhood dates back to 1904. At the time, it was to celebrate Dorchester's founding in 1630.
"Not to age myself, but I’m 40 years old and as long as I can remember, this has been a staple," Worrell said of the parade.
Sunday's festivities began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Mayor Michelle Wu. As the parade kicked off, dozens of bands and performers marched north along the route on Dorchester Avenue.
"It is a day that we all come together and celebrate the diversity, our uniqueness, and all of the beautiful families and friends that we have in the community," said parade president Brianne Gore.
"You have old school families who have been here for generations, newcomers," one paradegoer said. "It’s a reflection of what our society is, and you look at it, it’s beautiful."
