BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Celebrating her own Indian heritage and cultures around the globe, Co-Founder of the Boston-based television series "Cooking Without Boundaries" Reema Chandra culminates her experience in cuisine with "MagicMix" spice blends to bring new tastes to New England.

WBZ's James Rojas asked the entrepreneur how she came to build and launch a business that stimulates and beckons residents to expand the likes of their taste buds.

Chandra says she came to the United States in the 1990's, went to college, got married, and started a family, but being an entrepreneur in spice was never part of the initial plan. She says her upbringing in India may have ignited her passion for cooking, but it was her international travel to countries like Mexico that broadened her palette.

"[India] is where I got my roots and love for food. Then to Oaxaca, [I] spent a couple days with a lady who was 83 years of age— grasping how she thought about spices when she's cooking. Food is where I saw people come together and feedback has been reinforcing my conviction in 'MagicMix,'" Chandra said.

Most sales of "MagicMix" are online, but Chandra and her business partner, Sally Murphy, are branching out to more local stores with more globally-inspired spice blends.
