BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Crossing the finish line for the 127th Boston Marathon, Evans Chebet of Kenya wins first place and defends his title as champion with a time of 2:05:54. Officials say that is the third-fastest winning time in race history.

According to the Boston Athletic Association, Chebet is the first man to defend his winning title since Robert Cheruiyot did the same in 2008.
Eliud Kipchoge came in at sixth place with a time of 2:09:23.
