BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Evans Chebet is the Men's Elite Division Champion at the 126th Boston Marathon.
This is Chebet's first win at the Boston Marathon, he previously ran in 2018 and did not finish. Chebet finished the Marathon with a time of 2:06:51 and beat the second-place finisher by 30 seconds.
This is the fourth first-place finish at a marathon in his career, having also won the Buenos Aires South American Marathon in 2019 and the Lake Biwa Mainichi Marathon and Valencia Trinidad Alfonso Marathon in 2020.

The Kenyan had the fastest marathon time in the world in 2020 when he finished the Valencia Marathon with a time of 2:03:00.
