BOURNE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Looking to get some harmless revenge on an ex just in time for Valentine's Day? Well, look no further than the National Marine Life Center in Bourne, which is offering the chance to name one of its parasites after someone.
Participants can pay to name marine parasites from a variety of species, all of which are treated for at the NMLC. The service doesn't haven't to be just out of spite either, according to officials the funds raised will go towards research efforts into these parasites and care expenses for the center's animal patients.

The fundraiser ends on Valentine's Day— any interested parties can find out more here.
WBZ's Shari Small found that not many were enticed by the idea, some even thinking it was a step too far for them.
"That's a little harsh to name a parasite after your ex," one resident said.
"How angry are you at your ex that you ready to name a parasite after them? It's like 'all right we're going to name this after a politician,' I would be all in for that— all day," Mike from Waltham said.
