Gov. Baker: People Accompanying Seniors Can Also Get Vaccinated

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Gov. Charlie Baker announced Wednesday that individuals accompanying a person 75 years old or older to a mass vaccination site can also get vaccinated on the same day.

This goes into effect on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021. Companions can sign up for their own appointment that is at the same time or adjacent to the senior's appointment, and only one caregiver is allowed per senior.

"Mass vaccination locations will make every effort to take both individuals together to minimize wait time, even if the appointment times are not identical," the Baker Administration said in a press release.

A mass vaccination site is set to open at the Natick Mall on Monday, Feb. 22, and another site is set to open at Circuit City in Dartmouth on Wednesday, Feb. 24.
