Bailey, who was traveling home to Colorado wished those affected by the storm the best.

“Hearts with them, hopefully it’s okay. My team is based out of Charlotte so they’re expecting some weather today, so I hope they’re all right,” she said.

Kelly Isenor, the Director of Communications with the American Red Cross of Massachusetts is headed to Florida to help with emergency operations.

“Part of what we do for our long-term recovery is we build resistance after the storm has come through; you know maybe they’re back in a home but it's not their original one,” she said.

“We try to focus on [housing] too because we know that the next storm is coming,” she added.

Isenor also said that Massachusetts based Red Cross teams will be headed to Florida and Georgia to assist in recovery efforts.
