BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Thursday was Leap Day and love was in the air at Boston City Hall. The City Clerk’s schedule was jam-packed with weddings.
Radek Wierzbowski and Melissa Annand, of Roslindale, were one of many couples who chose to tie the knot.
“A lot of people have fun wedding dates and I thought that this would be a fun one to remember,” said Melissa.
“We only have to celebrate [our] anniversary every four years,” said Radek, her husband.

Radek and Melissa are also not fans of big celebrations, which is why they kept their Leap Day wedding a secret.
“When I was pregnant, we told family and friends but didn’t really tell everyone, so I thought [that] this would maybe be a nice fun surprise,” said Melissa.
Jason and Sheila also got married on Thursday. “It’s interesting. It’s a unique idea,” Jason said.
