Man Dies After Touching Third Rail At MBTA's Park Street Station

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A man died Saturday night after he came into contact with the third rail at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority's Park Street Station, officials told WBZ NewsRadio in a statement.

MBTA Transit Police Superintendent Richard Sullivan says the victim was pronounced dead as a result of the injuries he sustained. Investigation shows the man had appeared unsteady on his feet while on the platform at Park Street Station, officials say.

Transit Police Detectives say they do not suspect foul play, and that they are investigating the incident under the direction of the Suffolk County District's Attorney Office.
