"It's really special, the holiday season, because there are almost 50 trees across the city, a special ceremony at each one of them, and it's a time for people to get to be with their neighbors, enjoy a bit of the holiday spirit, and enjoy being together," Wu said.

Mayor Wu was scheduled to light at least nine additional trees on Saturday as part of the annual Dorchester Trolley Tour. She ended the day at the annual Martin's Park ship lighting ceremony in Seaport. Residents from across the city spent an evening filled with neighborhood tree lightings, bringing residents together in the holiday spirit.
