SPENCER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Some little oinking friends are coming to a yoga class in Worcester County next month.

Beyond Yoga & Wellness in Spencer is hosting a piglet yoga class on Friday, May 17. Piglets will roam around during an hour-long Vinyasa yoga session, with an additional 15 minutes afterwards for photos and cuddles.

Owner Ashley Bousquet has held goat yoga sessions, but when she found out a friend was getting little baby pigs, inspiration struck.

"Hold on, excuse me, you’re getting what, like you’re getting piglets? I was like, let’s use this," Bousquet told WBZ NewsRadio.

While having the piglets around might seem distracting, Bousquet said the little creatures are the perfect stress relievers.

"People are happy, they’re relieved, there’s no stress, there’s no anxiety, there’s no depression," Bousquet said. "You know, it’s like it combats all of that."

Bousquet also has plans for a special Mother's Day piglet yoga class that will also have baby bunnies and goats. She hopes the special sessions get more people interested in yoga.

"They might want to take another yoga class again, believe it or not, when they in fact thought that, ‘Oh, I would never do yoga,'" said Bousquet.
