NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio)— A local antique store is making its return to the big screen.
Employees at New Bedford Antiques At The Cove got a surprise visit from set designers of the new Disney film "Hocus Pocus 2" looking to purchase new props for the film. Donna Gagne, an employee at the store, told WBZ's Kim Tunnicliffe (@KimWBZ) the staff was excited the crew came to purchase props from their store.
"We all know about the first "Hocus Pocus" [movie] and we got really excited knowing that we were going to be selling to the second," Gagne said.
Gagne said the designers purchased more than a hundred items ranging from old wooden chairs to old chandeliers.
"Some of them were just so ornate and you can imagine them being in a house that has a haunted story to it," Gagne said.

This is not the first time New Bedford Antiques At The Cove have provided props for a film. Their website has a page dedicated to all of the films their antiques have featured in, including Wes Anderson's "The Grand Budapest Hotel" and "Moonrise Kingdom" as well as the latest adaptation "Little Women".
Filming for "Hocus Pocus 2" is set to begin in October in Rhode Island. The town of Lincoln, Rhode Island had a large 16th century New England style village built in the town to serve as a set for the film.
The film is set to come out on Disney+ in 2022.
