Patriots Draft Alabama QB Mac Jones With The 15th Overall Pick

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Patriots have a new quarterback. The Pats selected Alabama QB Mac Jones with the 15th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft Thursday night.

This is obviously some Tom Brady-sized shoes to fill. Jones said Brady did “great things for New England and I'm just looking forward to going in there and working.”

Jones also said he is pleased to be joining Cam Newton.

“He's earned the respect of his teammates, going into New England, being a captain. And then you got Jarrett [Stidham], who I really loved watching at Auburn and kind of use as a role model. So both those guys are role models to me right now,” Jones said.

Jones won a national championship as the starting quarterback for the Crimson Tide last year
