Police Identify Suspect In Manchester-By-The-Sea Stabbing

MANCHESTER-BY-THE-SEA, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Police have identified the man in connection to the stabbing Sunday in a seaside North Shore town.

Raymond Joel Vega-Castro, 23, was charged with armed assault with intent to murder, mayhem, kidnapping and assault and battery to collect a loan or debt.

Vega-Castro was brought to the Manchester-by-the-Sea Police Department at 1:45 a.m. Monday morning and will be arraigned the same day at Salem District Court.

Manchester Police reported they got a call about a man that had been stabbed at about 8:00 PM Sunday night around the town's downtown area, on North and School streets.

Officers arrived to find a man in his thirties with several stab wounds. The man was rushed to the hospital, but the wounds don't appear to be life-threatening.

Police stated that they are still seeking two suspects believed to have been involved in the incident as well.
