DUXBURY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — In a world of straight-to-door deliveries, you can add the gift of holiday melodies to that list. A group of highly trained singers in Duxbury is offering caroling performances on South Shore porches, and they're getting into character too— all dressing in Victorian-inspired attire.
Back for the holidays, the Washington Street Carolers is made up of several vocalists that can be hired online to perform a 10 to 15-minute A Capella set door-to-door, up until December 22.
WBZ's Brooke McCarthy got to tag along with the group as they ran down their set list of favorite holiday classics like "Rudolph the Red-nose Reindeer," "Santa Claus is Coming to Town," and a version of "Deck the Halls." Professional vocalist and mastermind behind the Washington St. Carolers, Mickey White says the ensemble sings traditional music with consideration of where they perform.
"We have 'Home for the Holidays,' which we thought was appropriate considering we'll be at your home. I think it's really magical that you just open up your front door and standing in front of you is the premier group of vocalists singing some of your holiday favorites. It's a six to eight-part harmony, depending on the song that we're doing. This isn't really your average caroling group— it really is a full performance," White said.

The Washington St. Carolers also offers an additional experience of having Santa Claus make a special appearance.
"It puts a smile on my face to be a part of it and to hear it, and I hope we get to share a little bit of that holiday joy with everyone else," said vocalist member Kennedy Carstens said.
