BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Bruins' quest for the cup got off to a great start last night with a 3-1 win over the Panthers in Game 1, but one player in particular caught plenty of people's eyes.
Tyler Bertuzzi had two assists in the win last night along with three shots on goal and two hits in his playoff debut.
The Bruins traded for Bertuzzi ahead of the trade deadline in exchange for two draft picks, and fans are thrilled with what he brings to the team.
"He was a pest obviously," one fan said. "Love to see that and love to see him get involved in the goal scoring."
Bertuzzi scored four goals and added 12 assists in 21 regular season games after joining the Bruins and has found a home alongside Pavel Zacha and David Pastrnak. Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery said he's been impressed with what Bertuzzi has brought to the team so far.
"When we acquired him we thought he was a guy that was made for the playoffs," Montgomery said. "The puck seems to follow him and he makes plays and he makes good decisions with it."

Montgomery did say he thinks the team has some areas to improve.
"When we look at our 5-on-5 game, we're not very happy with our process," Montgomery said. "We can get better there."
Game 2 is Wednesday, April 19 at the TD Garden. Puck Drop is set for 7:30.
