BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Bikers traveling down Massachusetts Avenue on Tuesday morning may have noticed a severe lack of cones to indicate the incoming widened bike lane.

For the second time since last Friday, an unknown vandal threw over a hundred of the cones into the Charles River.

"This creates a hazard for all road users and is polluting the Charles. Anyone with information on this should contact law enforcement," said Jonathan Gulliver, State Highway Administrator at the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.

As of Tuesday morning, the cones were replaced with new ones but plenty still remained on top of the frozen river.
