Winner Crowned In Hampton Beach Sand Sculpting Classic

HAMPTON, N.H. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Just in time for the start of summer, the 21st Annual Hampton Beach Sand Sculpting Classic has a winner: Abe Waterman, from Prince Edward Island, Canada took first place.

It's not just for bragging rights — Waterman will bring home a $6000 cash grand prize.

The Canadian sculptor's entry, called "Empty," depicts a crying woman forming a pool of tears, with a person crouched in the fetal position within.

Runners up included 2nd place winner Mélineige Beauregard of Montreal, Canada, who made sculpture called “Rebirth Of Phoenix” — that showed a woman with wings leaping skyward.
