BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The man suspected in a double murder in Marshfield will return to Massachusetts after making a court appearance in Florida.

Christopher Keeley appeared before a judge in Miami-Dade County Monday after police in Florida arrested him over the weekend and waived extradition. This paves the way for law enforcement officials to bring him to Massachusetts, where he is a suspect in the murder of Carl and Vicki Mattson.

Police found the couple stabbed and bludgeoned to death in their home Tuesday night. Keeley was eventually identified as a suspect and police began a massive manhunt to find him. The Weymouth native was ultimately arrested in Florida and was charged with being an out-of-state fugitive.

Authorities in Massachusetts said Keeley knew the Mattsons prior to their death and that their murder does not appear to have been a random act of violence.

It was not clear when Keeley would return to Massachusetts.
